DARKSIDE RETURN TO LEICESTER TO CELEBRATE THE

APOLLO STORY AND THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOON LANDINGS

Take an immersive journey to the Dark Side of the Moon

perfomed live with narration and 360º projections.

Fifty years ago, the world watched in awe as the first humans landed on the surface of the Moon.

On the eve of a week-long celebration of this stunning achievement, The National Space Centre are creating a truly unique experience. Working with Darkside The Pink Floyd Show to host a live performance of Dark Side Of The Moon in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium.

Pink Floyd played a major part in the heady days of the 60’s and 70’s, creating thoughtful, melodic and innovative sounds and shows that captured the feelings of optimism and freedom that set out the era as something really very special.

In July 1969, Pink Floyd took part in the live BBC television coverage of the Apollo 11 moon landing, performing an instrumental piece which they called "Moonhead”. The links between the band and the Apollo space programme can be seen in throughout their work.
