What a cracking weekend. Two shows at the fabulous Galeri in Caernarfon meant we could play an even greater range of all things Floyd. Set lists of what you may have missed are lower down the page. As one audience member commented “Thank you for entertaining us in Caernarfon, I was impressed – proper musicians”.
As we were set up from Friday’s gig, we took advantage of the opportunity to run through the Apollo 11 Story ready for Thursday and Friday’s shows at the National Space Centre (11 & 12 July). We were fortunate to be selected to work with the NSC on a similar project in January to celebrate Apollo 8 and the first time anyone had seen the dark side of the moon. After four sell-out shows, we will repeat the experience for Apollo 11 Moon Landing.
The shows take place in the Sir Patrick Moore planetarium and the projections in 360º are awesome. We will perform the whole of The Dark Side Of The Moon plus improvise some connecting pieces to accompany the narration of the story. We have even managed to squeeze in a little of A Saucer Full of Secrets… If you want to experience this you will need to move quickly as there are just a handful of tickets left.

One of the delights of performing with Darkside is that we get to play some really cool theatres plus we get to stay in some interesting locations. This weekend was no exception and we were all able to stay in a gorgeous Georgian town house inside the castle walls with a view over the Menai Strait to Anglesea, a sight made all the more pleasant while drinking a cold Glaslyn ale, provided by our sponsors, the Purple Moose Brewery! Being able to walk from the accommodation to the show was also a real treat.
